SHP300-10

SHP300-10

The SHP300-10 is an advanced traffic cabinet AC Service surge protector. This superb hybrid protector was designed from the outset with the NEMA transient withstand specification in mind. The maximum clamp voltage of the protector (even at 20kA) is under 350 volts, which provides nearly a 50% safety margin when coordinated with NEMA TS1-2.1.6.2.

Flexibility of installation is another designed feature of the SHP300-10. The protector first and second stages are electrically separate (line side) for use in jurisdictions that require a line filter between stages.

In addition, the first stage provides 20,000 ampere protection from MAIN NEUTRAL to GND as well as MAIN LINE to GND (ground). This is an often overlooked feature which becomes significant in locales where NEUTRAL must be kept separate from earth ground inside the cabinet.

The SHP300-10 hybrid design exhibits performance levels unattainable with simple “shunt type” protectors. The two active clamp stages, large inductor and shunt capacitance effectively halt high rate-of-rise surge waveforms, thus preventing initial voltage overshoot. The output clamp voltage is never allowed to exceed 340 volts, even when subjected to a 20kA, 10,000 volt per microsecond waveform.

SHA-1210-IRS

SHA-1210-IRS

The SHA-1210-IRS is an upgraded version of the SHA-1210. The two models are identical in performance. The SHA-1210-IRS also incorporates a failure indicator and remote sensing circuitry. In addition, the method of wire termination is different, incorporating wire leads and terminal block connectors on the SHA-1210-IRS instead of stud connections.

The remote sensing circuitry output is a form C dry relay contact closure suitable to interface with a modem or computer port for polling remotely. With this feature, a central computer could detect a failed SHA-1210-IRS at the intersection.

SRA6LCA, SRA6L &SRA16C-1

The SRA6LCA is a three-terminal device, two of which are connected across the signal inputs of the detector for differential mode protection, and the third terminal is grounded to protect against common mode damage. Differential mode surges (induced voltage across the loop detector input terminals), and common mode surges (induced voltage between the loop leads and ground) are handled by solid state clamping devices. The SRA6LCA is intended for all popular makes of loop detectors presently on the market.

The SRA16C-1  is a three terminal device, two of which are connected across the signal inputs of the detector for differential mode protection, and the third terminal is grounded to protect against common mode damage. Differential mode surges (induced voltage across the loop detector input terminals) are clamped by a semiconductor array instantly. The array is designed to appear as very low capacitance to the detector. Common mode surges (induced voltage between the loop leads and ground) are handled by a rugged three-element gas discharge tube which operates (fires) at 90VDC and thereafter clamps the two loop leads to 30 volts in respect to ground. This design eliminates any ground noise from entering the loop detector and being amplified. The SRA16C-1 is intended for all current detector models on the market.
