Polyphaser Coax Protectors

DAS SERIES
3GPP/AISG Coaxial Protectors

DAS-BT,   DAS-HY,   DAS-TP

Customizable 3GPP /AISG compatible coaxial interface series designed for tower top equipment and 3G system site optimization.  These devices also allow for greater flexibility in DAS vendor selection.

The Antenna Interface Standards Group, known as AISG, is a group of over 60 companies dedicated to creating an open specification for the interoperable control interface of 3G towermounted and remotely controlled devices. Many of the newer 3G system rollouts require the use of antenna line products such as remote electrical tilt antennas (RETA), tunable multi-carrier amplifiers, power boosters, and low noise amplifiers. AISG releases are coordinated with 3GPP technical working groups.

Distributed Antenna Systems, or DAS for short, is an antenna system that is used to optimize coverage where the existing standard cellular architecture is inadequate and/or traffic density is irregular. Typical applications for DAS would be in-building communications, tunnels, airports, or underground facilities.

DAS systems are often designed to optimize coverage where traffic patterns change several times during a day. For example, RETA’s are usually employed to change the antenna beam direction for more efficient signal coverage. The change of the system can be done from the network operations center, or at the BTS. It is accomplished through an electrical system that is defined by the AISG/3GPP standard

The DAS-BT is a DC pass AISG compliant coaxial protector for sites that use Remote Electrical Tilt Antenna (RETA). The DAS-BT passes the ASG telemetry frequency. Please see the product print for more information on the connector configuration, frequency range, and user voltage levels.

The DAS-HY Series is a customized 3GPP/AISG compatible coaxial interface designed for tower top and base equipment. The DAS operates in the frequency range of 700 – 2700MHz. The Series can pass 2-25MHz telemetry and DC voltages of +12 and +24Vdc. Typical parameters include maximum 1.1:1 VSWR and 0.1dB Insertion Losses.

The DAS-TP Series is compliant for AISG circular 8 pin connectors at tower top and base station. This Series will pass +12Vdc, +24Vdc, and RS485 baud rates of 9600, 38.4K, and 115.2K bps.

APPLICATIONS:

In accordance with the AISG/3GPP standards, this family of devices not only protects sensitive tower-top and base station equipment, but also routes RF, DC, and AISG RS485 data.  In essence, it is a lightning protector, Bias-T layer-one coaxial modem, and an RS485 interface combined into a single package.

The PolyPhaser DAS family is a cost-effective solution versus buying separate lightning protection equipment and allows for multi-vendor DAS equipment to be connected to this AISG/3GPP compatible interface.
