Collmer Secondary Surge Arrestor Series


The Collmer Secondary Surge Arresters are MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) based, hardwired devices, often referred to as Lightning Arresters. The device is designed to protect electrical equipment from damaging effects of spikes(+) and Notches(-) caused by lightning, utility switching, insulation arcing, electrical motor cycling, and other large or sudden changes in electrical power flow on incoming AC power lines.

The arresters are available in a number of electrical configurations ranging from 120/240V single phase to 277/480V 3-phase 4-wire systems. These epoxy encapsulated arresters are designed to be easily installed in any position indoors or outdoors utilizing the integral 1/2" threaded nipple and metal lock nut.

Their flame retardant plastic housing is both weather and UV resistant and complies with the UL standard for strength and flame resistance properties. They are sealed with UL component recognized epoxy potting compound. All leads are 18" long and are color coded 12 AWG gauge multi-stranded wire.

Collmer arresters are ideal for protecting panel boards, outdoor lightning and pole lamps, workshops, refrigeration systms, farm equipment (including milking machines and poultry processing equipment), electric motors and controls, air conditioning equipment; oilfield, irrigation, sump and heat pumps and many other electrical devices.
