TELEPHONE - GAS STATION PROTECTOR MODULES

TII 126 HEAVY DUTY TWO-ELECTRODE
TOTEL FAlLSAFE® TFS® STATION PROTECTOR MODULE

TII TOTEL FAILSAFE® TFS® protector modules are the basic components of TII station protectors. They are designed with complete subscriber and telco protection in mind. A feature of this completely self-contained unit is having the wire terminals
as an integral part of the protector modules. Thus, when a module has reached its "End of Life" condition, it must be removed and replaced in order for the subscriber service to be restored. In other words, when a subscriber station is visited, it is not possible to
unintentionally leave the subscriber connected to the network and unprotected.
A TII TFS® module is also special in its internal construction. The TII 126 ( ) TFS® Station Protector Module consists of two Heavy Duty 2-electrode TII 44 Tubes, a failshort mechanism in case of a power cross condition, a backup airgap to protect
a vented gas tube, and an epoxy filled shell with two #10 wiring studs and a ground strap. The encapsulation of the internal components of the module safeguards against contamination and corrosion of the protection elements, a feature not found in screw-in type station
protectors. The Heavy Duty 44 tube provides an extra level of protection in both life and current handling capacity beyond that of most 2-electrode tubes in common usage today. The TII 126 ( ) Protector Module shell is colored black to indicate its Heavy Duty rating.
The TII 126( ) 2-Electrode Protector Module may be employed in a variety of single and multiple pair protector assemblies. When mounted in TII station protectors or network interface (NID) enclosures, the assembly is UL listed in the Signal Circuit Protector
category. The TII housings carry the UL logo and identification number. The TII 126( ) Protector Module is also UL listed as a stand-alone one or two-pair indoor station protector when it is mounted on a TII B1 Mounting Adapter. The TII 126( ) module may also be UL listed in
other manufacturers' NID enclosures.
